North American Association Environmental Education

We were excited to connect with fellow environmental educators at the NAAEE 2024 Conference in Pittsburgh.
We presented "Where Art Meets Science and Science Meets Purpose"—and thrilled to share that it was a great success. We connected with passionate educators, shared our impactful work, and sparked meaningful conversations on how to bridge art and science for positive change.

Broward County certifies its first Ocean Friendly Garden

Designed and built by local students and led by The Sea Lab Project,  an after-school program for youth through art, STEM Mentorship, ocean exploration, and creative maker labs, in collaboration with the City of Deerfield Beach.

Finalist Monaco Ocean Protection Challenge

As a finalist in the Monaco Ocean Challenge, an international startup competition showcasing new business concepts with measurable positive environmental impacts on the ocean, we stood out among more than 40 teams representing over 20 different nationalities, with a total of 94 participants.

Competing as semi-finalists against prestigious institutions like Yale School of Management (USA), EADA Business School (Spain), and Seoul National University (South Korea), Lele Art Lab emerged victorious as finalists.

Team members have been awarded travel and accommodations to pitch their concept on June 19th at the Oceanographic Institute of Monaco, in the presence of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco. See event images, here

This story was produced by Broward Arts Journalism Alliance (BAJA), an independent journalism program of the Broward County Cultural Division.

In early 2024, we were part of 50 organizations awarded funding and a collection of gardening supplies for our a youth garden program.
