After weeks of hands-on exploration, design thinking, and learning how to transform sand, soil, and straw into cob, our youth innovators proudly presented their Green Build Lab Capstone Project: the Terra Pod.

Students combined creativity, sustainability, engineering, and determination to design and build a mobile sink featuring solar power, a cob exterior, and a living roof. The project challenged students to rethink how eco-safe materials and regenerative design can inspire more resilient, community-centered solutions for the future.
The Green Build Lab Youth Capstone Graduation Event marked the culmination of a 12-week designer incubator where youth from the Boys & Girls Club explored sustainable design and hands-on building using reclaimed materials.

Students showcased their final project during a celebration attended by community leaders, including the CEO of the Boys & Girls Club, Broward’s Youth Director, the Scholarship Coordinator, and program staff. Thank you to Vice Mayor Michael Hudak and Commissioner Tom Platt for joining and celebrating our youth on this special day.
